KOTA KINABALU: Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) is ready to accept any leaders, including members of the opposition party, who want to join it.
Likas Gagasan Rakyat division chief Haji Mohammad Bahrin Haji Abd Karim said Gagasan Rakyat membership is also open to former opposition members, in addition to other individuals interested in political struggle through the local party.
“They (former opposition members) are welcome to apply to become Gagasan Rakyat members. We are always open, especially to former opposition party members, to joining this new party,” he said.
Mohammad Bahrin said this after receiving 200 membership forms from opposition parties to join Gagasan Rakyat through the Likas division here today.
Also present was Likas Gagasan Rakyat women’s wing chief, Halizah Din.
He said the party would be a new platform to continue the struggle.
“God willing, we will mobilise and continue our struggle through Gagasan Rakyat for the good of the people and this country.
The meeting was led by Datuk David Chong and accompanied by James Yin Max Loo, Chong Ket Vui, Tsen Hen Phion, Alex Chee, Hiew Sui Chong, Chee Chok Kwok, and Mohd Yunus Zipli.
