TUARAN: Wanita Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) is urged to continue to improve the existing unity to become a strong team in the party’s struggle.
In making the call, its leader, Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun, said the party machinery, especially the GRS women’s wing, should not be complacent but instead continue to work for the benefit of the people.
“We have to continue to work, strengthen unity, be united in the GRS component, and avoid disagreements and divisions among us.
“For that reason, the role and responsibility of GRS women are very important and quite large now. The GRS party machinery really needs women to convey the message and struggle of GRS to the people at the grassroots level,” she said.
Azizah said this after chairing the GRS Women’s Wing meeting in Tuaran on Sunday.
Also present were Deputy Chairman of GRS, Datuk Flovia Ng (Star), Datin Mary Yong (PBS), Norizah Mohammad Noor (SAPP), Puan Sri Diana Diego (Usno), Glenna Wong Kuen Yin (LDP), Norizian Dumit (PHRS), representative PGRS Vice Head of PGRS Women, Aziah Atoh, GRS Assistant Secretary, Salmah Sait and members of the Sabah Women’s GRS committee.
Azizah said that with the close cooperation shown by all the women components of the GRS party, “God willing, it will continue to be a strong team”.
In the meeting, Azizah informed Wanita GRS that the date has been set for the GRS Women’s Tour series in the zones until the end of the year.
This is one of the efforts to approach the people at the grass-roots level, she added.
“GRS women will set up GRS machinery in each zone throughout Sabah and will hold courses for GRS women machinery,” said Azizah.
