SANDAKAN : The reaction of Libaran voters who were seen in favor of Barisan Nasional (BN) throughout the 15th General Election (GE-15) campaign is not a guarantee of victory for the party.
Libaran BN candidate, Datuk Suhaimi Nasir said the BN machinery cannot be comfortable and stop at that point, instead it needs to enhance its efforts until the voting day on 19 November.
In fact, he will ensure that no community group in Libaran were left out from being treated and visited.
“Until today, we have visited almost all areas except for a few islands including Libaran, Nunuyan and Pamaguan.
“We have also visited all the Voting District Centers (PDM) except for a few community group and youth which we’ll meet later.
“We want to ask for the support of every Libaran voter because every vote is valuable,” he told the media after the BN Libaran Program with Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin at the Libaran BN Command Center, here on Saturday.
Suhaimi is confident that the work of the Libaran machinery together with Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) and BN component parties will ensure a stylish victory in Libaran in GE-15.
“We do not want to make the wrong choice and repeat what happened in the last general election.
“So I call on the machinery of BN and GRS to join forces as closely as possible. Let there be no lies between us,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Sabah UMNO Chairman, Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin said the people of Libaran are lucky because Suhaimi as a candidate is an hardworking man and always on the ground to meet people.
He expects Suhaimi to win, but wants the BN and GRS machinery not to take the opportunity for granted.
“I also hope that the opportunity and potential of BN to win the Libaran seat will also be experienced in other areas including Kinabatangan, Sandakan, Batu Sapi and so on,” he said.
