10 districts in Sabah records zero new Covid-19 cases

KOTA KINABALU: Ten districts in Sabah did not have any new Covid-19 cases today.

The districts are Tongod, Telupid, Kudat, Pitas, Kota Marudu, Papar, Ranau, Nabawan, Tenom and Beaufort.

Local Government and Housing Minister, Datuk Masidi Manjun said that the situation is showing the spread of Covid-19 in Sabah is reducing.

He said that the total new Covid-19 cases recorded in Sabah today were 101, bringing the total cumulated cases to 51,216.

In his statement, Masidi also reported one death at Kalabakan today.

He said that Tambunan reported 23 new cases today, which is the highest in Sabah, followed by Keningau with 20 cases and Tawau with 14 cases.

Masidi said that the latest statistic is the lowest for Sabah since Oct 1, last year.

He also said that the State is hoping that the number of cases will keep reducing and urged the people of Sabah to adhere to the current rules and SOP that had been enforced by the government during the festivity.

“It is not impossible for us to reach zero Covid-19 cases if the people can keep continuing living in the new norms as they are doing now,” he said.
