KOTA KINABALU: UMNO Sabah will remain with Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) to ensure the victory of their respective candidates in the 15th General Election.
Sabah UMNO Chairman, Dato Sri Bung Moktar Radin said that UMNO Sabah and GRS will be having a meeting to discuss the preparation for the upcoming election in the near future.
“We have expected that the 15th general election will transpire and will be carried out as announced (by the Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin) that it will take place as soon as the Covid-19 pandemic subsides.
“UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN) Sabah are not left behind in preparing for the election,” he said to members of the media at the UMNO Sabah headquarters near here soon after presenting Chinese New Year contributions to members of the BN Sabah component parties from MCA and Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS).
Present to receive the contribution are MCA Sabah Chairman, Lu Yen Tung.
Also present are MCA Sabah Women Chief Dr Pamela Yong, MCA Sabah Secretary Datuk Yong Su Phin and MCA Sabah Treasurer Datuk Chin Kim Hiung.
With regards to the contribution, Bung who is also Sabah’s Deputy Chief Minister and Works Minister said that the contribution is aimed at fostering closer ties with other BN component parties.
“May the 2021 Chinese New Year brings about prosperity for the people of Sabah, for Sabah and for the country, Malaysia,” he said.
