KOTA KINABALU: People using the Pink Bus service in this city have praised it for providing dependable public transportation.
However, some worries have come up about keeping passengers safe because there are claims that some drivers are going too fast.
Joveth Colomon, a regular user, said he likes the Pink Bus service. But he was worried when he noticed the bus he took from downtown Kota Kinabalu to Luyang was moving very quickly.
According to him, this raises safety questions since the roads around the city often have heavy traffic with many different vehicles.
“Pink Bus is really good, the service works well and trips are fast. But drivers should not drive too fast because keeping passengers safe is most important,” he said of the pink bus service around the Kota Kinabalu city.
Joveth said that when he was on the bus, it was not very full.
He thought that maybe because there were fewer people on the bus, the driver decided to go faster.
But he pointed out that having fewer passengers does not mean it is okay to ignore safety rules while driving.
According to him the Pink Bus service really helps the community, especially people who use public buses to get around every day.
However, he hopes the company running Pink Bus will focus on making sure drivers follow the rules so the service is both fast and safe for everyone.
Joveth also wants the government to watch Pink Bus drivers more carefully, especially to make sure they follow speed limits and keep passengers safe.
He said that checking on drivers early on is important to stop bad things from happening, especially when buses go through busy areas around Kota Kinabalu.
