A dazzling evening for the 43rd anniversary celebration of the Rotary Club of Likas Bay
KOTA KINABALU: The Rotary Club of Likas Bay’s 43rd anniversary celebration on Saturday night was a glittering affair, marked by songs and cultural dance performances, culminating in a cake-cutting ceremony.
The presence of a delegation from its sister club, Rotary Club of Lu Chou, Taiwan, led by its President Pharma Dong Hsieh Ming added significance to the two-in-one event where incoming President Anna Clark was duly installed by her predecessor Aldrin Wong together with the new Board of Directors for the 2026-2027 term.
Past District Governor Datuk Haji Zainie Abdul Aucasa officiated at the celebration which also saw the presentation of the Likas Bay Rotary Club’s vocational award to Dr Kathryn Rivai in recognition of her commitment and dedicated service to provide basic education to children in 14 learning centres throughout Sabah.
In his address, Zainie said over the last four decades, the club has been exemplary in carrying out its motto of “Service above Self” reaching out to the community in need, adding “The people are definitely appreciative of what selfless Rotarians have done, which only motivates them to do more and be impactful.”
Also present were past District Governors Datuk Lee Chuen Wan and Philip Chong with their spouses Datuk Naomi Chong Set Mui and Madam Yong Len Nyuk, respectively.
