KUALA LUMPUR: Sipitang MP Datuk Matbali Musah has called for the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on Lembaga Tabung Haji’s management to serve as a roadmap for reforming the institution.
He stressed the importance of fully implementing all recommendations in the report to prevent a repeat of past problems.
Speaking during a special Dewan Rakyat session today to deliberate on the findings, Matbali welcomed the government’s decision to table the report for parliamentary discussion.
“Sipitang supports the government continuing with follow-up actions based on the RCI findings in a professional and transparent way, without interference,” he said.
“Every step taken should be rooted in the law, not influenced by pressure from any group,” he added.
He pointed out that the report, which examines the period between 2014 and 2020, includes critical observations that require serious consideration.
Matbali emphasized that each recommendation and conclusion must be reviewed through established legal procedures to ensure fairness and protect the rights of all involved.
“We stand behind the government’s and Prime Minister’s position that actions moving forward must align with the rule of law and principles of sound governance,” he stated.
At the same time, he underscored the need for investigations to proceed unhindered.
“For the sake of progress, we must avoid dragging enforcement bodies into public speculation. Let them carry out their responsibilities freely, professionally, and with integrity,” he added.
