KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah-based party Warisan has refuted claims circulating on social media that it has withdrawn from the federal unity government.
Loretto Padua Jr, the secretary-general of Warisan, described these allegations as yet another attempt to slander and tarnish the party’s reputation.
“These individuals not only dare to spread falsehoods but also have the audacity to forge Warisan documents, making them appear as official statements from the Secretary-General,” he said in a statement here today.
Earlier, a statement that went viral on social media suggested that Warisan had decided to exit the unity government following the outcomes of the state elections in Sabah, Johor, and Negeri Sembilan.
While Warisan is not part of the Sabah state government, it continues to support the unity government at the federal level.
The party is represented in Parliament by three Members of Parliament: Shafie Apdal (Semporna), Yusof Apdal (Lahad Datu), and Isnaraissah Munirah Majilis (Kota Belud).
