KOTA KINABALU: The Islamic Organization of Sabah (USIA) is actively reinforcing its strategic networks with Islamic leaders and institutions at the national level to enhance the agenda of preaching, community development, and more effective management of endowments.
Its President, Datuk Sapawi Ahmad, stated that this effort continues through meetings with the Chairman of the Malaysian Muslim Scholars Council, Datuk Mohd Nakhaie Haji Ahmad, during the Mufti Discussion Night held in conjunction with the Pre-International Endowment and Preaching Convention 2026.
He mentioned that the meeting serves as an important platform for exchanging views on the current challenges faced by the Muslim community, as well as discussing the best approaches to strengthen the implementation of preaching and the management of endowment institutions.
“USIA is always open to establishing strategic collaborations with various institutions, organizations, and scholars to ensure that the preaching agenda continues to be strengthened in line with the needs of contemporary society.
“Such networks are crucial for reinforcing the symbols of Islam and enhancing the effectiveness of community development programs in Sabah and the country as a whole,” he said in a statement today.
Sapawi also expressed appreciation for Mohd Nakhaie’s contributions, describing him as one of the figures who has significantly contributed to the development of Islamic thought in the country.
He noted that the moderate, authoritative, and relevant approach brought by Mohd Nakhaie serves as an example in efforts to strengthen the understanding of Islam and unite the community.
