The departure of ACP Jasmin Hussin is a significant loss, hard to replace – PPDJS

TAWAU: The unexpected passing of Tawau District Police Chief ACP Jasmin Hussin, 53, early this morning has been met with deep sorrow, particularly among community groups and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that have long maintained close working ties with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

Mohd. Zaki Harry Susanto, advisor to the Sabah Drug and Crime Prevention Organization (PPDJS), said he was stunned upon hearing the news, praising the late officer as committed, approachable, and consistently supportive of collaborative efforts with external organizations.

He highlighted that during their years of association, ACP Jasmin had played a key role in supporting PPDJS initiatives—offering guidance on crime and drug prevention and actively backing public awareness campaigns organized by the group.

“I knew him well personally, having served as a senior police officer in PDRM during the same period. We’re both from Sabah and previously worked in Peninsular Malaysia, which strengthened our professional connection.

“To be honest, his sudden passing has come as a profound shock. This is not just a loss for the police force, but also for the wider community and NGOs that relied on his cooperation and insight.

“He was a dedicated officer who always provided meaningful input and willingly contributed to programs aimed at public welfare,” he said today.

Mohd. Zaki emphasized that the late ACP’s efforts in building trust and strengthening police-community relations will remain a lasting legacy.

He conveyed his deepest sympathies to the bereaved family, expressing hope that they would find strength and endurance during this difficult period.

“On behalf of all PPDJS members, I offer our sincerest condolences to the family of the late ACP,” he added.
