LAHAD DATU: A power bank, believed to belong to a man who went missing while searching for swiftlet nests, was discovered by rescue teams during a search and rescue (SAR) operation at Gua Tepadung, Segama, on Monday.
However, the victim, identified as Ismail Ibrahim, 61, has still not been found, even as the operation enters its second day.
According to the Sabah Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), the SAR team successfully reached the last known location of the victim after he entered the first vertical hole in the cave area.
“The team also found a power bank that is believed to belong to the victim, but he was not at that location.
“Additionally, another new hole, which is thought to have never been explored, has been identified for the next phase of the search operation,” he said.
The operation was suspended at 4 PM and will resume on Tuesday.
