Hajiji calls on Muslims to embody the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor, encourages Muslims in the state to take the story of the sacrifices made by Prophet Ibrahim AS and his son Prophet Ismail AS as a lesson and guide in facing daily life challenges.

He stated that Aidiladha is not merely a celebration of an Islamic holiday, but rather it carries significant teachings about sincerity, resilience, and sacrifice in fulfilling duties and responsibilities.

He emphasized that the spirit of sacrifice demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim AS and his son should be continuously embraced by Muslims as they strive to develop themselves, their families, communities, and the state.

“Aidiladha is a significant Islamic holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide with deep reflection and understanding.

“The story of the sacrifices of Prophet Ibrahim AS and Prophet Ismail AS serves as a lesson that is always cherished by all Muslims,” he said in his Aidiladha 1447 Hijrah message on Tuesday.

Hajiji remarked that every sacrifice requires perseverance and strength that begins within oneself, as taught through the life of Prophet Muhammad SAW.

“This spirit is what we need to embody as we navigate our struggles. Sacrifice demands resilience, and it must start from within.

“This is what we learn from the life of Prophet Muhammad SAW, which provides inspiration and strength in our efforts to develop this beloved state,” he added.

Additionally, he urged all Sabahans to continue nurturing relationships, strengthen unity, and avoid any divisions or conflicts that could undermine the harmony of the state.

He hopes that this year’s Aidiladha celebration will serve as a turning point for Muslims to enhance their values of sacrifice, strengthen their faith, and become individuals who consistently receive the blessings of Allah SWT.
