JKKK election process in Kadamaian – a commendable initiative – Salleh

KOTA KINABALU: Former Chief Minister of Sabah, Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak, has described the JKKK election process in the Kadamaian state constituency (DUN) as a positive initiative.

He stated that credit should be given to the Kadamaian assemblyman, Datuk Ewon Benedick, for this approach.

Salleh mentioned that such steps provide the community with the opportunity to choose their village committee, thereby strengthening the concept of village governance and leadership based on the people’s mandate.

“When the people are directly involved, accountability is clearer, and the decisions better reflect the actual needs of the community,” he said in a Facebook post.

According to Salleh, the JKKK election is an example of good practice in empowering grassroots participation.
