Indah Permai murder case – Police success in arresting the suspect within 24 hours praised

TAWAU: The efficiency of the police in taking swift action paid off as the main suspect linked to the brutal murder of a woman, whose body was found in Indah Permai, Sepanggar, yesterday, was apprehended in less than 24 hours after the incident was reported.

This quick action deserves praise as it demonstrates the commitment and dedication of the security team in ensuring that criminals do not escape and public safety is maintained.

Commenting on the incident, the Advisor of the Sabah Drug and Crime Prevention Organization (PPDJS), Mohd. Zaki Harry Susanto, urged the community not to make any speculation and to seek information from credible sources.

Moreover, this incident should serve as a serious reminder of the importance of crime prevention because, according to Zaki, crime can occur anywhere and at any time, regardless of location, background, or time.

“Many believe that residential areas are safe zones, but the reality is that both perpetrators and victims can be around us. Some may know each other, while others may have never met before,” he said.

Zaki stated that crime prevention should start with individual awareness, including avoiding walking alone in quiet and dark areas, especially early in the morning or late at night.

“Women, in particular, need to be more cautious, always alert to their surroundings, inform family members of their whereabouts, and not easily trust unknown individuals,” he said.

At the same time, he once again expressed appreciation to the police for their swift action in apprehending the suspect, hoping that the case can be resolved quickly and the perpetrator brought to justice.

He emphasized that crime prevention is not solely the responsibility of the authorities but requires the active role of the entire community to create a safer and more harmonious environment.
