Restaurant owners in Tuaran town, hoping for a change of fortune under the GRS, often close their shops due to water supply disruptions – Jaesman

TUARAN: Several restaurants in Tuaran town, which have been relying on a better water supply under the GRS government, frequently close most of their restaurants and eateries in the area after facing water supply issues, especially in the past week.

The Coordinator of the Democratic People’s Welfare Party (KDM) for the Pantai Dalit constituency, Gundohing Jaesman Gipin, expressed sympathy for the challenges faced by these restaurant owners and urged the authorities to explain why this issue keeps occurring.

“Several restaurant owners have complained to me that their business activities are affected and slowing down.

“They mentioned that just last week, many restaurants had to temporarily close… they are complaining that the water issue has been worsening lately,” he stated in a recent social media post.

Therefore, Jaesman said it is time for the people of Sabah, including those in Tuaran, to rise and address this situation in the upcoming state elections.

“Five years is a long enough time to at least reduce the water supply disruptions in Tuaran town… but what is happening is becoming more frequent, leading to a drop in income.

“This does not include the Berungis-Tuaran town road, which gets congested at certain times due to the failure of elected representatives over 30 years to expand or widen this important road,” he said, adding that the complaints from the traders are echoed by David Wong Fok Loi, the Vice-Chief Coordinator of KDM Pantai Dalit.

Jaesman hopes that the frustrations and complaints of the people can be translated into votes for change in the state elections for a better future.
