Improving the infrastructure, installation of solar street lights in rural villages of DUN Kiulu among a priority for KDM – Henry Saimpon

TUARAN: The initiative to enhance the infrastructure in the DUN Kiulu area, including the installation of solar LED street lights in village roads, is among the issues that will be prioritized for the convenience of the people if the KDM is given the mandate in the upcoming 17th State Election (PRN17).

KDM Vice President Gundohing Henry Saimpon stated that this move aligns with the aspirations and vision of the “original Sabahan party KDM,” which is dedicated to developing infrastructure facilities in the rural areas of the state.

“Based on feedback, many villages in DUN Kiulu still face issues with dark roads and require street lighting, particularly solar lights.

“The villagers believe that the absence of solar street lights not only makes it difficult for residents to move around at night but also poses safety risks. Of course, there are also village roads that have this facility, but we want to expand it further.

“As the saying goes, prepare an umbrella before it rains, and that is why KDM Kiulu is also focusing on providing these solar LED lights if given the mandate,” he said.

Henry, who is also the Kiulu KDM chief and a former Sabah football star, said this in his recent social media post.

He said that some may question KDM’s ability to implement the solar LED lighting project even if granted a mandate in the upcoming PRN.

According to Henry, the Village Street Light Project (LJK) and the installation of LED lights have long been successfully implemented in many village roads in the peninsula.

“Therefore, I see no reason why such a project cannot be expanded or implemented in DUN Kiulu… this is part of my vision for the residents of Kiulu… I believe that where there is a will, there is a way to realize it,” he said.
