TAWAU: The Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCOM) is vital in tackling security challenges, especially in the Eastern Sabah Security Zone (ESSZone).
According to the Minister of Home Affairs, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, ESSCOM’s contribution is crucial for fostering a secure environment in the Eastern Sabah area, which has a history of various security issues.
The rise in foreign tourist arrivals in the region, including Semporna, is also influenced by the introduction of international flights to Tawau Airport.
“This reflects the tourists’ trust in the safety conditions here,” he stated.
Saifuddin expressed these thoughts during the Launching Ceremony of the MADANI ESSCOM KDN Village Adoption Program in Kampung Inderasabah on Friday.
The council also observed the initiation of the MADANI ESSCOM Adopted Village Program, which allocates RM1 million to each chosen village, aimed at implementing both physical and non-physical projects, including enhancements to school facilities and community infrastructure.
