Rahman Dahlan’s Statement Viewed as Personal Opinion, Not Reflective of Party Stance – Suhaimi

SANDAKAN: Datuk Suhaimi Haji Nasir, the Information Chief of Sabah UMNO, has described the remarks made by the Deputy Chief of Sabah UMNO as a personal opinion that does not represent the party’s official position.

He stated that the comments in question have no impact on Sabah UMNO.

“In reality, this is merely a personal interest, not aligned with the interests of the people or the party,” he emphasised when responding to media inquiries during the Open House event for the Libaran Parliament at Aisyadelia Cottage, Batu 14 Sandakan, on Saturday.

Earlier, Datuk Seri Panglima Bung Moktar Radin, the Sabah UMNO, remarked that Sabah UMNO is considered stable, despite the Deputy’s questioning of the candidate selection process for the 17th state election.

Previously, Bung Moktar was quoted as saying that UMNO Sabah is prepared for the 17th state election, even amid internal disagreements within the party.

Regarding the three seats in the Libaran Parliament, Suhaimi, who also serves as the Chairman of BN Libaran, noted that the DUN Gum-Gum seat is currently not held by BN.

“BN is committed to reclaiming it in the upcoming state election, along with the two other traditional seats in the Libaran area, namely DUN Sungai Manila and DUN Sungai Sibuga,” he added.
