SANDAKAN: A 74-year-old male tourist from China was hit by a fallen tree branch at the Rainforest Discovery Centre (RDC) in Sepilok this afternoon.

The Chief Conservator of Forests, Datuk Frederick Kugan, said the injury to the head was critically severe, and he was sent to the hospital via an ambulance.
Unfortunately, he passed on at the hospital.
He was visiting RDC with his family members.
“This is a rather unfortunate incident beyond our control, and the Forestry Department sympathises with the family members and will assist with whatever is necessary in this time of difficulties,” he said in a statement today.
