KOTA KINABALU: Kuamut People’s Representative, Datuk Masiung Banah, attended the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) office this morning to testify following a viral video linked to him that was uploaded on a news portal yesterday.
The chairman of the Housing and Urban Development Board (LPPB) arrived precisely at 9:00 this morning at the MACC office in Kota Kinabalu to testify regarding the viral video.
“My presence at the MACC office as a commitment to cooperate fully allows the authorities to carry out a detailed investigation regarding the video recording,” he explained immediately after leaving the MACC office at 12:30 pm.
“The MACC officer took 2 hours and 30 minutes to record my statement this morning, and I am delighted to be able to cooperate.
MACC officers are very professional and dedicated when conducting investigations.
Masiung also welcomed any authorities to investigate this prosecutor and promised to cooperate fully.
He informed us that the video recording had been edited and edited before being broadcast.
“The video footage clearly does not reflect the true story, as it was edited as if the story favoured the individual who made the footage.
“I am ready to be called by MACC at any time without giving the excuse of being sick or busy with work commitments,” he explained.
“I hope MACC will call the person who made the recording for a detailed investigation and hand over the actual video recording of the conversation,” he explained.
He believes that there is political interference involving opposition parties who deliberately trap some Sabah People’s Coalition (GRS) MPs as a plot to topple the state government led by the Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
According to Masiung, he had expected the opposition to conspire because he felt challenged by the excellence of the state government led by Hajiji through the unexpected Sabah Budget 2025 amounting to RM7.421 billion, which the opposition had never done when he was in government before. .
Masiung asked the people in the Kuamut area that he represents to remain calm and not give in to speculation.
