KOTA KINABALU: The International Technology & Commercial Centre (ITCC) Penampang is continuously working to improve its facilities, and this time, they are having a soft opening for The Wedding Hall.
Gundohing Benjamin Malakun, General Manager of the ITCC Penampang, said the management responded positively to the increased demands for a comfortable wedding hall.
“In fact, the idea for The Wedding Hall began when JPN (Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara) Penampang wrote to us requesting support to improve its existing marriage ceremony facilities.
“After considering the available space, we realised that the existing area within the JPN office was limited and might not comfortably accommodate couples together with their families and invited guests,” he said.
Benjamin said this in his welcoming speech in conjunction with the soft opening of The Wedding Hall at ITCC Penampang today.
He said instead of merely renovating the smaller existing space, the management decided to create a dedicated wedding hall at ITCC.
“It is a more spacious, comfortable and dignified setting where couples can solemnise their marriage and celebrate this important occasion with their loved ones,” he said.
Benjamin stated that the Wedding Hall would not have come to fruition without the vision, dedication and leadership of Datuk Seri Panglima Clarence Malakun.
“From the initial idea through planning, construction and completion, Datuk Seri remained personally involved and committed to turning this vision into reality,” he said.
In this respect, he expressed his sincere appreciation to Datuk Seri Panglima Clarence Malakun for his guidance, determination and leadership in bringing The Wedding Hall at ITCC to life.
“I would also like to extend our special appreciation to Mr Thien Chen Wei, our renovation contractor, and his entire team,” he said.
Benjamin said, they worked diligently and efficiently to complete the renovation within a very short timeframe.
“We sincerely appreciate their good workmanship, cooperation and commitment in ensuring that The Wedding Hall was ready in time for today’s soft opening,” he added.
Besides that, he thanked the ITCC Shopping Mall management team, the organising committee, suppliers and members of staff who worked hard to prepare the hall and today’s ceremony.
“Today’s soft opening marks only the beginning. We will continue to listen to feedback and improve our facilities and services so that every couple who chooses this venue will have a beautiful and memorable experience,” he said.
Attendees who were interviewed generally welcomed the wedding hall.
“This wedding hall not only provides a comfortable space but also offers the bridal couple a captivating view,” said Datuk Susan Wong, Group Managing Director of WSG.
She noted that the establishment of this wedding hall caters to couples of all backgrounds, accommodating their respective traditions.
“After the marriage registration ceremony, the couple’s families can spend time enjoying the atmosphere at the shopping complex here (ITCC),” she said.
Also present at the function were Datuk Seri Panglima Clarence Malakun, J.P., Executive Chairman of ITCC-Penampang; Datin Seri Panglima Sylvia Malakun, Managing Director of ITCC-Penampang; Datin Seri Panglima Celestina Jinu; Datuk Susan Wong; Datuk Joanna Kitingan; Datin Kimmy Tan Malakun; Puan Aidah Wong; Puan Christine Pamela Eyong, Ketua Pejabat Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara (JPN) Daerah Penampang; Encik Alexander Hugo Malakun, J.P., CEO of The MAJULAN Hotel; and Puan Alice Chew Malakun, Deputy CEO of The MAJULAN Hotel.
