LAHAD DATU: The Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCOM) has set its main goals as preventing any further intrusions and eliminating kidnappings for ransom (KFR).
This was emphasised by ESSCOM Commander, DCP Datuk Victor B Sanjos, during the ESSCOM Assembly held to launch the new ESSCOM logo, flag, and the Safe Zone map for Eastern Sabah (ESS Zone) here today.
Victor expressed hope that this rebranding would boost the morale of all ESSCOM personnel in achieving these two main objectives, making the ESS Zone a safe and secure area.
“The rationale behind the ESSCOM and ESS Zone branding is crucial to restore public confidence in the safety levels within the ESS Zone, aiming to enhance the socio-economic development of Eastern Sabah.
“Therefore, I humbly request full cooperation and support from media friends to help promote this message in their reporting to advance the development of Eastern Sabah,” Victor added.
Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ESSCOM, Datuk Dr. Jamaluddin bin Mohd. Ali, in his welcoming speech, urged all ESSCOM members to embrace the values of the two acronyms introduced by the Chief Secretary, YBhg. Tan Sri Shamsul Azri bin Abu Bakar, which are MERDEKA and MALAYSIA, in their daily tasks.
Earlier, the branding of the ESSCOM logo and flag, along with the colour scheme for the ESS Zone map, was approved in a Joint Committee Meeting chaired by the Minister of Home Affairs, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution bin Ismail, and the Chief Minister of Sabah, Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji bin Haji Noor, on July 25, 2024.
At the same event, attended by 130 ESSCOM personnel, the launch of the e-Membership and e-Demography systems for ESSCOM was also held to streamline daily operations for ESSCOM staff.
