KOTA KINABALU: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (SPRM) Sabah has arrested five public servants working at a health centre in the state for allegedly submitting documents with false details worth about RM146,000.
Sources say the suspects, which include one medical assistant and four nurses, were detained around 9:40 AM today while providing statements at the SPRM Sabah office.
Initial investigations reveal that all suspects, four women and one man in their 30s, are believed to have submitted false claims for overtime work from 2020 to 2021, even though the work was not performed.
Meanwhile, SPRM Sabah Director Datuk S. Karunanithy confirmed the arrests and stated that the case is being investigated under Section 18 of the SPRM Act 2009.
He mentioned that all suspects have been released on SPRM bail and will be charged on September 12, 2024 (Thursday) at the Kota Kinabalu Sessions Court.
