Hyellene crowned this year’s Unduk Ngadau

PENAMPANG: Hyellene Danius from Inanam has been crowned Unduk Ngadau for this year’s National Level Kaamatan.

She emerged victorious in the final Unduk Ngadau competition, surpassing 50 other participants at the Hongkod Koisaan Hall of the Kadazandusun Cultural Association (KDCA) near here today.

As the winner, Hyellene was awarded a cash prize of RM12,000, a crown, a trophy, a sash, a bouquet of flowers, and various other prizes.

The prizes were presented by Toh Puan Norlidah RM Jasni, the wife of the Head State, and Datin Seri Juliah Salag, the wife of the Chief Minister.

Elldiwirna Saimen from Kiulu secured second place, receiving a cash prize of RM10,000, a trophy, a bouquet of flowers, and additional prizes.

Monicka Majin, representing Keningau, clinched the third spot and was awarded a cash prize of RM8,000, a trophy, a bouquet of flowers, and accompanying prizes.
