All eyes will now be on the Prime Minister’s Kaamatan speech in KDCA

PENAMPANG: Millions of Sabahans are eagerly anticipating positive news for Sabah during the Kaamatan celebration.

The Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to deliver his speech shortly at the National Level Kaamatan Festival at Hongkod Koisaan KDCA, near here.

Simultaneously, the people of Sabah are looking forward to the Prime Minister’s comments on the implementation of the Madani Village Community Committee (JKDM).

Deputy Chief Minister of Sabah, Datuk Seri Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, had previously emphasised that the state government leaders would express their opposition to the implementation of JKDM Madani in Sabah during the visit.

Jeffrey pointed out that Sabah already has the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) in place, rendering the JKDM initiative under the Ministry of Rural Development and Regional Development (KKDW) redundant.

On the contrary, Sabah UMNO chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin defended the establishment of JKDM in the state, highlighting its role in coordinating programmes to enhance the economy and entrepreneurship of village residents to combat hardcore poverty in Sabah.
