Hajiji hails the upgrade of HQE 2 as a specialised cardiac hospital

PAPAR: The upgrading of Hospital Queen Elizabeth 2 (HQE 2) as a specialized cardiac hospital has been praised by Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

He extends his sincere appreciation to the Federal Government, particularly Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, for recognizing the needs of Sabah.

“We are delighted by this development as it will provide greater convenience for our cardiac patients in the future. They will no longer have to travel to Kuala Lumpur for treatment, but can receive the necessary care right here in Kota Kinabalu,” he stated during a press conference at the MP Papar and Kawang ADUN Aidilfitri Celebration held at SMK Pengalat Hall today.

Also in attendance were Papar Member of Parliament, Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, and Kawang State Assemblyman, Datuk Ghulam Khan Bahadar.

Hajiji further emphasized that the Sabah government will prioritize the enhancement of healthcare facilities.

“This is exactly what we need, as healthcare plays a vital role in our society. We appreciate the Federal Government’s understanding and support in areas such as healthcare and education. We warmly welcome this initiative,” he added.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced an allocation of RM80 million for the purpose of upgrading HQE 2 as a specialized cardiac hospital.
