The Malaysian men’s doubles pair showcased their dominance in the quarterfinals, defeating their Indonesian opponents, Muhammad Shohibul Fikri-Bagas Maulana, with a score of 21-14, 21-11.

This victory brings them closer to replicating their achievement in 2019, where they reached the final match but were defeated by the renowned Indonesian pair, Mohammad Ahsan-Hendra Setiawan.

Aaron-Wooi Yik’s performance was exceptional, as they secured a stylish victory in just 31 minutes, advancing to the semifinals.

They now stand as Malaysia’s sole hope for a championship at the Super 1000 World Tour event, following the elimination of the women’s doubles pair, Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah, and men’s singles player, Lee Zii Jia, in earlier matches.

Furthermore, Aaron-Wooi Yik maintain an impeccable record against their opponents, having emerged victorious in all five of their previous encounters.

In the semifinals, they will face the Taiwanese pair, Lee Jhe Huei-Yang Po Hsuan, who defeated Supak Jomkoh-Kittinupong Kedren from Thailand with a score of 21-13, 21-17.
