UMNO machinery should not remain silent in facing various attacks and provocations on social media – Busiau

KENINGAU: The UMNO machinery should not remain silent but instead should take more aggressive action and speak up, especially in the face of various attacks against UMNO institutions and leadership.

Pensiangan UMNO chief, Busiau Ampirak said that UMNO is currently facing provocative attacks, ridicule, and slander on social media platforms by the opposing side’s cybertroopers, especially with the upcoming State Election (PRN) in Sabah.

These attacks aim to cover up the weaknesses of the opposing side and shift blame onto UMNO and its leadership for issues related to development and the cost of living, he said.

He said this after attending the opening ceremony of the Media and TikTok Course organised by the Puteri UMNO Movement for Zone 4 here recently.

The event was also attended by Puteri UMNO Malaysia chief Datuk Nurul Amal Mohd Fuzi and Sabah Puteri UMNO chief Ummi Nabilah Datuk Jamal.

Busiau acknowledged that social media has become a powerful tool for people to express their dissatisfaction with the state government’s failure to deliver on development promises.

However, he said UMNO should not let these attacks go unanswered.

Instead, he said UMNO should utilise various media platforms, such as TikTok and comment sections, to respond and strengthen the party.

Busiau commended the efforts of Puteri UMNO in organising the Media and TikTok Course, recognising it as an opportunity for UMNO to rise again and regain the government.
