According to Deputy Prime Minister’s Political Secretary Datuk Jamal Nerubi, Ahmad Zahid’s visit to Sabah on January 7th and 8th is in response to an invitation from Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Bendecik to launch the Kadamaian Development Masterplan, which coincides with Ewon’s Christmas Open House.

It is important to note that Ewon is also an Assemblyman for Kadamaian state constituency.

Jamal, who is also Umno’Papar Chief, emphasized that this visit has no connection to the issue of political power struggle that has been reported by certain online portals.

“We strongly refute these allegations. This visit is an official work visit, and these claims are an attempt to tarnish the reputation of the Deputy Prime Minister and to sow division within Sabah Umno,” he added.

Jamal further said that as the President of Umno, Ahmad Zahid took the opportunity during this visit to meet with Umno Division Heads in Sabah in a relaxed and friendly setting to discuss political matters.

At the same time, Jamal affirmed that Ahmad Zahid and Umno Sabah are fully committed to maintaining political stability through a united government, with the aim of developing a prosperous nation for all.
