KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah UMNO Information Bureau will use the ‘4M’ method, which is Media Bersemuka, Media Cetak, Media Elektronik, and Media Maya (face-to-face media, print media, electronic media, and virtual media) in providing information to members and the public about the party’s policies and programmes, as well as information on various development projects implemented by the government.
Sabah Umno Information Chief Datuk Suhamimi Haji Nasir said the use of 4M was seen to be more effective in disseminating various information as well as being used as a medium to fend off all provocations, insults, and slander to leaders and the party.
“In this connection, Sabah UMNO took the approach of holding a Sabah UMNO Information Retreat to provide understanding to the Party Information Leaders at four levels in line with the party’s efforts to empower the UMNO Information Medium,” he said after the opening ceremony of the Sabah UMNO Information Retreat here on Friday night.
The opening ceremony was graced by the Deputy Chairman of the Sabah UMNO Liaison Committee Datuk Seri Panglima Abdul Rahman Dahlan.
Also present were UMNO Supreme Council Member Datuk Seri Dr. Shamsul Anuar Nasarah, Sabah UMNO Treasurer Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Salleh Said Keruak, Sabah UMNO Women’s Chief, Senator Datuk Noraini Idris and Sabah UMNO Youth Leader Suffian Abd. Karim.
According to Suhaimi, who is also Libaran UMNO chief, the three-day retreat, starting from October 27, 2023, was filled with various programs, including an Informational Townhall Session titled “Sabah UMNO’s readiness to face PRN” whose panel members consisted of Dr. Shamsul Anuar Nasarah, Abd Rahman Dahlan, Salleh and Sabah UMNO Election Director Jeffery Noor Mohamed.
Other content of this program includes information on New Media, creative writing, (Theoretical and Practical) Graphic editing, basic communication of public speaking and effective communication and an Informational Townhall session “Facing the Dynamics of Sabah Politics”, he said.
Suhaimi said the party’s Information Bureau is the front line that needs to be patient, brave, wise and help the party face the attacks of the opponent with various insults and slanders to the leader and the party.
“We are confident that by using the right communication method, with the help of accurate and effective social media platforms, Sabah UMNO Information will have an impact and positive results for the party, especially in the face of the upcoming GE and PRN (state election),” he said.
