M’sia Cup Sabah draw 2-2 at home in first leg of quarter-final tie

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah FC failed to take home advantage in the first leg of the Malaysia Cup quarter-final tie against Perak FC as they drew 2-2 at the Likas Stadium here, tonight.
The Rhinos squad had the perfect start when striker Darren Lok headed in a goal past T. Shaheeswaran in the third minute.
But the visitors got one back just six minutes later as import player Luciano Guaycochea’s powerful shot beat goalkeeper Khairul Fahmi Che Mat, and the score remained level until the break.
Sabah took the lead again in the first minute of the second half as Ramon Machado headed in a pass from Saddil Ramdan, but the Bos Gaurus squad restored parity once again in the 54th minute thanks to a strike from Wan Zack Haikal Wan Nor.
The second leg of the quarter-final will take place on Sept 25 at the Perak Stadium in Ipoh.
