KOTA KINABALU: The improvement and upgrading work at Likas Stadium is proceeding according to plan, according to Sabah Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Ellron Angin.
“I noticed the improvement and upgrading process of Likas Stadium is on track to meet the agreed schedule,” he said.
Ellron told reporters while inspecting the upgrading work at Likas Stadium today.
Earlier, he witnessed the scoreboard experiment that uses the Omega technology system and gave a very positive response.
Among other facilities that will put Likas Stadium on par with other stadiums in Malaysia is the use of the VAR (Video Assistant Referee) system, which is a very important system for referees to use.
“The use of high technology, namely the scoreboard system and the VAR system, is a positive development for Sabah football, and certainly football fans have been waiting for a long time for positive changes to this stadium,” he added.
In addition, he said the facility will not only be used for football but also other sports tournaments, which will have a positive impact, namely more efficient and effective organising while increasing the credibility and quality of the state’s sports to a higher level.
