UPKO’s success in Kadamaian should be a source of inspiration to win more seats in the next state election – Ewon

PAPAR: The victory of the United Progressive People of Kinabalu (UPKO) in the Kadamaian state constituency in the last state election should be used as a source of motivation to win more seats in the next state elections.

UPKO president Datuk Ewon Benedick asserted that the Kadamaian seat must continue to be a stronghold for the party to continue to succeed.

“The Kadamaian state constituency should continue to be a winning seat.
But we want to contest and win more seats.

“We can win the support of the people if the divisions are prepared enough in all aspects and consistently provide services,” he said.

Ewon said this in his speech in conjunction with the UPKO’s 29th Anniversary Celebration at Kg Biau Multipurpose Hall, here today.

Citing Kadamaian seat as an example, Ewon, who is also Kadamaian assemblyman and Penampang MP, said Kadamaian was not the traditional seat of UPKO before.

“But it took 13 years for us to highlight the service to the people there, and now it has become the only stronghold of our DUN today.

“If Kadamaian can do it, we can do it in other parts too,” he said.

Ewon hoped that Kadamaian could be an inspiration for all other UPKO divisions to work hard to achieve the desired result.

Meanwhile, Ewon also launched his official social media page as the President of the UPKO Party, as the Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Malaysia, and as a Penampang MP and Kadamaian assemblyman.
