LAHAD DATU: The Consulate General of the Republic of China in Kota Kinabalu, Huang Shifang has expressed appreciation to ESSCOM for successfully maintaining peace and security in the Eastern Sabah Safe Zone (ESS ZONE).
According to her, most Chinese visitors to the state of Sabah, particularly those who travel to the east coast of Sabah, are content with the degree of security in the region.
During a brief visit to the Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCOM) on Friday, she said that there is no question regarding the security situation on Sabah’s east coast and that everything is under control.
Huang spent time paying a courtesy call on ESSCOM Commander DCP Victor Sanjos while on a one-day tour to the Palm Oil Industrial Cluster (POIC) Lahad Datu.
Her arrival at the ESSCOM office was greeted by DCP Tuan Victor Sanjos and several senior ESSCOM officials.
Huang also praised ESSCOM’s success in fulfilling its obligation to maintain security, as well as instilling confidence in all parties, including Chinese tourists and foreign investors who come to invest or visit the state.

Huang hopes that bilateral relations and communication between the consulate office of the Republic of China and ESSCOM can be strengthened through the visit.
She also congratulated Victor Sanjos on his appointment as the new ESSCOM commander.
Meanwhile, DCP Victor Sanjos assured that ESSCOM, in cooperation with all security forces consisting of PDRM, ATM, and APMM, will always prioritise the safety of tourists visiting the east coast of Sabah.
He outlined ESSCOM’s intention and plan to establish a strategic partnership between ESSCOM and other agencies, including the Ministry of Tourism and the Malaysian Immigration Department, towards creating data on the movement of tourists to facilitate ESSCOM and other security forces monitoring of their movements and whereabouts in a certain place so that security assistance can be provided. given as soon as possible in the event of emergencies or unforeseen cases that require rapid action by the security forces.
ESSCOM, in cooperation with all security agencies, will always be ready to defend the sovereignty and security of the ESS Zone from any external threat that tries to disturb the peace of the east coast of Sabah.
