Juhari denies Sabah UMNO’s claim that Sukau PGRS does not support the Anwar-led Unity government

KOTA KINABALU: Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (PGRS) Sukau Division Chief Datuk Juhari Janan has vehemently denied Sabah UMNO’s claim that the Sukau PGRS did not support the Unity government led by Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

He asserted his remarks as division chief were about the fact that the Kinabatangan UMNO had failed to develop the Sukau state constituency and the Kinabatangan Parlimentary constituency respectively despite having ruled for more than 20 years.

“Under UMNO’s rule, the Sukau state seat and the Kinabatangan parliamentary constituency were home to many people suffering and in dire need of development,” he said in a statement today.

Juhari said the effort to split the Sabah government was initially initiated by the UMNO leadership in Sabah, which was led by the Kinabatangan UMNO division chief through “Langkah Kinabalu” to overthrow the Sabah government, which was spearheaded by the Sabah Chief Minister in January this year.

“For the sake of continued development in Sukau and Kinabatangan areas, the PGRS Sukau division would like to express its full support to the Sabah State Government (GRS) led by Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor and the Federal Unity Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim,” he said.
