KOTA KINABALU: Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM) president Datuk Peter Anthony has lodged a police report following an article on social media connecting a key witness confirmation that the MACC had messed up with the report he made approximately eight years ago.
Peter made the report at the Penampang Police Station at 1.57 pm today, seeking a retrial and annulment of all convictions.
Speaking to reporters later, Peter, who is also the Melalap assemblyman said on June 24, while traveling in the Melalap area, Tenom, he read an article on social media in regards to a police report made by the main witness Mohd Shukur Bin Mohd Din at the Penampang police station on August 9, 2018.
According to him, the contents of the report made by Mohd Shukur stated that MACC officials had altered his report made on 20 July 2017.
Peter said Mohd Shukur had also informed that the report made was “incorrect”.
“Therefore, I made this police report for further action by the police, the appeals court, and also the attorney general,” he said.
As such, Peter wanted the case retried and the KDM president’s convictions dropped.
On April 18, this year, the Kuala Lumpur High Court upheld the three-year prison sentence and a RM50,000 fine imposed on former Sabah Infrastructure Development Minister Datuk Peter Anthony for forging a letter for the purpose of cheating.
