TAWAU: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) is ready to face the state elections at any time.
Therefore, PBS Deputy President Datuk Seri Dr. Joachim Gunsalam urged all party members to keep up their efforts to ensure the party would remain a force to be reckoned with in the struggle for Sabah and Sabahans.
He asserted that PBS is still relevant in fighting for and defending the rights of Sabahans.
“We must work hard to recruit new members to strengthen PBS, including in Tawau,” said Dr. Joachim when officiating the 38th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of PBS Division N.83 Sebatik at Kampung Murut, Ulu Kalabakan, here on Saturday.
The AGM was attended by about 380 delegates and observers.
Dr. Joachim also welcomed the 661 new PBS members during the meeting.
In the meantime, Dr. Joachim is confident that the people of Sebatik and all of Tawau, including Ulu Kalabakan, will experience significant development when Indonesia’s capital, Nusantara, becomes operational.
According to Dr. Joachim, who is also the State Minister of Local Government and Housing, “the economic landscape of the entire district will change, and PBS members here need to seize this opportunity to advance themselves, their families, and the party.”
He also congratulated Sebatik Division Head Sahrol Mahoolop and members of the organising committee for making the party’s AGM a success.
