Huazong: Malaysians aspire for a new govt that is more tolerant and supportive of a multiracial society

KUALA LUMPUR: With the Parliament has been dissolved to pave way for the 15th general elections (GE15), a vast majority of Malaysians are hoping that the imminent general elections will produce a new government that is moderate and more tolerant and supportive of a multiracial society, said Tan Sri T.C Goh, President of The Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia (Huazong).

In addition, Malaysians are also hoping for a new government that is stable, and is capable of introducing policies which are truly friendly and beneficial to the people and businesses, and ultimately bringing growth and prosperity to the nation and its people.

He thus hoped the Chinese voters would exercise their voting rights and wisdom to elect the best candidates in the coming GE15.

Goh who is also President of The Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah (FCAS) expressed this in a statement issued today, in which he also expressed his full support to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, for consenting to the prime minister’s request to dissolve Parliament as he was disappointed by the political developments in the country, so that the people can elect a new government that is stable.

Goh also hoped all Malaysians, the politicians especially, could fully heed His Majesty’s reminder that: “a strong country is important to guarantee political stability and continued economic prosperity for the wellbeing of the country and the people as a whole.”.

He continued that, following the dissolution of Parliament, the questions of “whether the Parliament should be dissolved or otherwise”, “when will the general elections be held?” etc, should be a matter of the past, and everyone should start focusing on the general elections, and to exercise their voting rights and wisdom to elect a new and competent government.

He also hoped that the general elections will be conducted in a fair, orderly and smooth manner, for the people to cast their votes to usher in a better government and promising future for the country and its people..
