KOTA KINABALU: UPKO president Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau is due to make a major announcement after the party’s “special meeting” in Penampang on Wednesday.
It is not immediately clear why the special meeting is called, but speculation is rife that Madius will make a significant announcement immediately after the meeting.
It is reliably learnt that the UPKO president could possibly explain on a number of issues, including the possible rejuvenation of the party and give an overview of the UPKO manifesto for the upcoming general elections.
A press conference is scheduled to be held by the UPKO president at the party headquarters in Penampang at 4pm on September 28, amid talk of a compromise is to be reached related to the party’s elections.
Media invitations for the press conference were sent here on Monday.
According to the media advisory, members of the supreme council and all UPKO division leaders will be present at the special meeting.
