KOTA BELUD: The achievement of students need to be prioritised because they are the nation’s future asset and human capital.
Usukan state Assemblyman Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak said the development of human capital will not be realised if the culture and attitude of students are not formed and empowered through the delivery of knowledge and skills.
“Of course, certain skills of these students are obtained from activities outside the classroom. Our students not only improve their skill level in curriculum activities, but are also given recognition and appreciation,” he said.
Salleh was speaking at the Excellence in Pupil Development Award ceremony of the Kota Belud district education office at Dewan Harmoni SK Pekan, near here today.
Also present was District Education Officer Mohd Fadzli Abdul Rozan.
Salleh hoped that the excellence award that recognises activities outside the classroom can be continued in the coming years.
“With an award like this, it will inject more enthusiasm, spark inspiration, and become the best role model to all students, educators, and then to the community, especially in the Kota Belud district,” he said.
