KOTA KINABALU: A new line up has been elected into the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) of SK Api Api in Kota Kinabalu for the 2022/2023 session, with Nazir Datuk Hj Salleh winning uncontested for the top post.
Former exco for sports in the school’s PTA, Mohamad Taufik Ismail, won the post of vice head. The six exco posts were secured by Norhanieyati Norhaizat, Haslin Bin Gaffor, Jaswinder Kaur Kler, Nurul Huda Zainudin, Masli bin Laminsin dan Asfarina binti Jamal Mohideen.
SK Api Api headmaster Mohd Hafiz Zuraimy Damsah who officiated the PTA meeting stressed on the importance of the role that parents play in supporting activities planned and organised by the school, in particular those that involve pupils.
Mohd Hafiz who is also the advisor to the school’s PTA, also touched on attendance of pupils, and emphasised the need to improve the percentage of those who attend school daily with the cooperation of parents.
He also shared with parents the evaluations carried out by the school, including the classroom-based assessment (PBD), physical activity, sports and co-curriculum (PAJSK) and psychometric assessment, and efforts to ensure pupils are able to become all rounders from their education at primary school level.
He added that the school continues to place priority on the curriculum and student affairs, apart from improving the environment of the school with the support of the PTA, parents and the community.
Meanwhile, Nazir in his speech after being elected to lead the school’s PTA said the new team will commit to assist the school in activities that would benefit pupils, teachers and the school.
