KOTA KINABALU: Deputy Chief Minister cum Industrial Development Minister, Datuk Dr. Joachim Gunsalam chaired the first roundtable meeting with representatives of the various associations in the state at his office in Wisma Kewangan here yesterday.
The main intention to hold the round table discussion is to get to know them better and listen to their problems and find a best solutions possible.
Dr. Joachim also said that, it is also a venue for exchange of ideas on how to improve the industries as well as to help the government find and implement better policies that benefit both industry players and the State.
The two-hour meeting was attended by the Sabah Employers Association (SEA) Chairman, Yap Cheen Boon; Chairman of Sabah Branch of Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM), James Ha; President of Federation of Sabah Industries (FSI), Richard Lim; President of Sabah Timber Industries Association (STIA), PJ Tan; Member of Timber Association of Sabah (TAS), Fong Ming San; The East Malaysia Planters Association (EMPA) Committee Member, Thomas Lim, and President of Sabah Furniture Association (SFA) Sharon Tsang.
