PENAMPANG: Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) Sabah president Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan will defend his Keningau Parlimentary seat in the 15th general election (GE15).
“For sure I will defend my seat (Keningau),” he said after releasing fish fry’s into the Moyog river at Kampung Rugading for its traditional river rehabilitation known as the “Tagal” system, on Saturday.
He said STAR is planning to contest five parliamentary seats in the GE15.
Jeffrey, who is also Deputy Chief Minister, said after negotiations, STAR might only be given five although the party had wanted more seats.
Asked on the delayed implementation of Undi18 and automatic voter registration, he said it might probably affect the political landscape significantly.
Meanwhile, STAR Deputy President Datuk Ellron Angin was quoted as saying recently that he is ready to contest the Pensiangan Parliamentary seat in GE15 if nominated by the party leadership.
Ellron, who is also State Minister of Youth and Sports, indicated this in his speech at the opening ceremony of the ‘Gotong Royong” Program’ at Kampung Terlobou Baru in Sook.
“I do not deny that I am interested in contesting as a candidate for Pensiangan,” Ellron said.
