Loke’s Readiness to Resign as Transport Minister Deserves Recognition – Mustapha

KOTA KINABALU: DAP Secretary General Loke Siew Fook’s principled choice to step down from his position as Transport Minister warrants respect and acknowledgement, according to Datuk Mustapha Sakmud, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office (Sabah and Sarawak).

Loke’s decision emerged following the conditional pardon granted to former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak on Friday.

Mustapha anticipates this significant decision will be addressed during the upcoming Federal Cabinet meeting.

“We leave it to the Prime Minister to decide. What truly matters is our respect for the decision made by DAP based on their core principles,” he stated.

Mustapha told reporters after officiating the Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration in conjunction with Malaysia Day for the Sepanggar Parliamentary constituency on Saturday evening.

Following a three-hour Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting in the capital earlier today, Loke announced he would be the sole DAP leader to resign, thereby safeguarding political stability throughout the nation.
