Sabah is committed to ensure infrastructure and utilities are in place to lure investments

LAHAD DATU:  Deputy Chief Minister, Datuk Dr Joachim Gunsalam, visited the Palm Oil Industrial Cluster (POIC) here Saturday to expedite the road improvement works which was scheduled to commence this year.

The Industrial Development Minister (MID) was accompanied by POIC Sabah Chairman, Datuk Seri Yong Teck Lee, and Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Fredian Gan, Permenant Secretary , Thomas Logijin as well as a team of officers from MID, Finance Ministry and State Economic Planning Unit (EPU).

The POIC Lahad Datu is positioned as an emerging Logistics Hub for Sabah and east BIMP-EAGA (Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and Philippines – East ASEAN Growth Area).

All major infrastructure are in place and all it needs is a strong Government support to enable investments to flow in.

Dr Joachim reiterated the State Government’s strong commitment to realising Sabah’s industrialisation agenda through emphasis on high value industries.

It was Dr Joachim’s second official visit to POIC Lahad Datu within the last three months.

After his visit to the POIC’s 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) development project site,he attended a meeting held at Lahad Datu District Office.
