Jamawi urges public to refrain from sharing bullying video with police

TENOM: Melalap Assemblyman, Datuk Jamawi Jaafar, has called on the public not to circulate images and videos related to the bullying incident involving a female student at a school dormitory in the area, but instead to leave the investigation entirely to the police.

He stated that all parties should respect the request of the victim’s family and students for the footage of the incident not to be disseminated further.

“We leave it to the police for further action.

“We must honor the request of the victim’s family and students not to viralize the images and videos,” he said when contacted by the media.

Jamawi also expressed hope that all parties, especially the Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) and the school, would intensify awareness efforts to combat bullying among students.

“We hope for the cooperation of all parties, particularly PIBG and schools, to take awareness steps to ‘Prevent Bullying’ in their respective schools so that incidents like this do not recur.

“May this serve as an important lesson for all of us,” said the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food Industry.
