Zainudin Aman named new Sabah State Secretary

KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Zainudin Aman has been appointed as the new State Secretary of Sabah, effective June 29, 2026, following approval by the state government.

He will take over from Datuk Safar Untong, whose term ends on June 28.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said the appointment is intended to support ongoing public service reforms and strengthen the execution of government initiatives.

He expressed the state government’s deepest appreciation and gratitude to Datuk Seri Panglima Sr Haji Safar for his outstanding service, commitment, sound judgment, and integrity since assuming office in 2019.

In addition, Datuk Seri Panglima Sr Haji Safar has been named Chairman of Tanjung Aru Eco Development Sdn Bhd (TAED), a government-linked company under the Chief Minister’s Department, effective June 1, 2026.
