TUARAN: More than 100 young individuals, including children and their parents from Regions 1 to 10, gathered for the first SAB-WIDE Global Children & Youth Day (GCYD) Celebration 2026 at the Seventh-day Adventist Church PMC Tamparuli on Sunday.
The event was officially inaugurated by Pastor Jim Gabu, the President of the Seventh-day Adventist Sabah Mission.
Pastor Willborn Gondolos, the Director of the Youth Services Department, Sabah Mission and the program’s organizer, was also in attendance.
In his address, Pastor Jim urged the youth to embody a “living sermon.”
He stressed that youth engaged in mission work are those who unite in faith, boldly witness without fear, and serve selflessly.
He further reminded attendees that GCYD is not merely an ancillary event, but is integral to the church’s primary mission of disseminating the Everlasting Gospel.
Throughout the program, participants viewed video reports from each region and enjoyed musical performances from various regions, making the celebration both joyful and significant for all attendees.
Global Youth Day is celebrated on March 21, 2026, with community service activities scheduled throughout the month of March.
