SANDAKAN: The Kinabatangan parliamentary by-election will feature a three-way contest, while the Lamag state seat will have a direct fight.
Barisan Nasional has put forward Bung’s son, Naim Kurniawan, as their candidate for the Kinabatangan parliamentary by-election.
Warisan is presenting former Sukau assemblyman Saddi Abdul Rahman, and there is also an independent candidate, Goldam Hamid, in the race.
These by-elections are taking place due to the passing of Bung Moktar Radin on December 5.
For the Lamag seat, the contest will be between BN’s Ismail Ayob and Warisan’s Mazliwati Abdul Malik Chua.
Gabungan Rakyat Sabah and Perikatan Nasional have chosen not to participate in the by-elections.
Bung passed away less than a week after being re-elected for a second term as Lamag assemblyman during the Sabah state election on November 29.
